I really like MIA, she's one of my favorite artists, I used to listen to Kala nearly every day on the way home from work on the train, and this is probably the best song on the album (imo). It just doesn't seem to blend well with the 'springy' upbeat nature of Vampire Weekend because, for me, MIA is gritty and tries to get across a message and this is hard to listen for when you have their persistent rock beat going on. It kind of leaves no time to reflect on what Paper Planes message is - if that makes sense.
Still upvoted because the mix is well done, and of course MIA rules

Ahh, gotcha. I kinda like it when the tone of the song completely changes though
siftbotsays...Moving this video to alien_concept's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
petpeevedsays...The reason the original Paper Planes was so compelling to me was the mix of menace and innocence. This seems to remove all the menace.
Interesting result but at least to my ears it's a Musak version of a great song.
