but i'm a bit skeptical (as always) ... the lecture was on sept 5 and he's still listed as faculty (http://www.cba.ufl.edu/faculty/facultyinfo.asp?WEBID=602) ... i mean, star jones was removed the next day!!!

Going back to the video, I'm growing progressively more convinced it's just his style rather than being doped up. The description of the video is clearly clueless: this isn't a "mandatory busines school" course, but rather an introductory 3rd year course for people who don't have a strong business background. So I don't take much stock in the 'he got fired' part either. Silly google poster!

Good catch on the prof. I see he is not lecturing this semester, but common sense says it would probably be hard to fire a professor unless he had to take a drug test.

joedirt, good call on the contact info. In my defence ("mitigating factor"), it's his office # rather than his home # from his homepage, but I've cheerfully accepted the advice anyway.

Also, I noticed on his homepage it says he's a "lecturer", which, according to my understanding, implies he's not a tenured professor, so they could get rid of him more easily if they needed to. Having said that, 1. there's no actual evidence that they have, and 2. my original comment "I've had profs like this. Good times." was written with a completely straight face - I really have. And those are some of the best classes - and you really do learn the most!

The guy might be a little wacky, but I found the lecture both entertaining & educational. Hell I'm not even interested in business, but I kept watching the video anyway. I'd much rather have him for a teacher than 99% of the "teachers" I've had in the past!
