Up on Cripple Creek- Live from the basement at Big Pink.

Music from Big Pink in Woodstock New York. For Years The Band sat in the basement with, among others, their good friend and former boss Bob Dylan- doing nothing except making music. This song is one of the best known results from that time.

Sad news that singer and drummer Levon Helm will soon be gone- he's in the "final stages" of terminal cancer.

A small upside though- apparently Robbie met with Levon yesterday (April 18 2012). Nobody but them knows for sure what went down but let's hope they were able to put behind them some of their 35 years of enmity and anger.

Well, it's over now. Levon Helm died this afternoon April 19, 2012.
