This is a montage of gameplay clips filmed by the Danish underwater rugby team Suleima.
Underwater rugby is a fast-paced tactical contact sport played mostly at the bottom of a swimming pool. The object of the game is to get the ball - filled with saline water so it sinks in the pool - into the opposing team's goal, a basket at the bottom of the pool. Only masks, snorkels, fins and some protective gear are allowed - no breathing apparati! Rules are few - no striking, no grabbing other player's gear or swimsuits, no holding on to the baskets, no wrestling players who do not have the ball. When you do have the ball, though, you're going to have to fight to keep it, and hope you can do something with it before your lungs burst.
Although all the players in this montage are male, underwater rugby is commonly played with mixed teams.

Lannsays...The video would be better without the annoying music. Besides that, I'm up for watching Danish guys in speedos getting rough in a swimming pool.
nibiyabisays...I've watched lots of other "ball games" and they are rarely if ever played in a 2-dimensional world.

But how many have the players actually routinely moving and performing significant manoeuvering in all three dimensions? How many have you having to keep looking not only to front, back and to the sides, but also above and below yourself for other players? I don't remember seeing anyone sneak up on a player from above in any other team sport played with a ball.

lol the Danish pace of life really is slow then.

siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Music) - requested by ant.
Nithernsays...While this does look interesting to watch/play, I guess there's a bit of safety and all sorts of problems that could result from it. The more competitive a sport is, the higher the factor of beating out/down the competition. Through money in to it, and you have the recipe for some serious injury.
