Haha. Well the main reason that people think it's so weird is that they confuse what are actually internal party processes with actual national general elections. It just happens that each state government administers those primaries to ensure that they are clean and fair. Each party is different and each state is different, and it's not that strange that there are things like the unpledged delegates-- remember it's the party nominating its own candidate, *not* a general election.

This is about the Democrat and Republican Primaries, both of which are designed by small committees of party officials.

The title indicates the video would be about the 'Electoral' College process. The Australian gentleman is sloppy with his use of Electoral, but that doesn't mean this sifter need be.
