Turn a Beer Can Into The Only Camping Stove You'll Ever Need

Editorial note: The following description is from the original Vimeo post:

One of the best gifts I've ever received on my travels is a stove made with nothing but a drinks can and a knife. In this video, we're going to learn how to make it.

The stove runs on alcohol, of which the most common source is medical alcohol from your local pharmacy. For information on finding fuel for the stove, visit zenstoves.net/Stoves.htm#Fuels

It goes without saying that fire can be dangerous. Be respectful and enjoy putting this stove to good use!

i love it. the fuel has multiple uses in a survival situation ... an essential.. isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.. cheap, effective, sanitary, quick... great for a day to night hike, drink the can then cook ur meal from it... god damn genius thanks

Very second line of the link you provided.

"Denatured alcohol is used as a solvent and as fuel for spirit burners and camping stoves."

I think knocking it over while lit is probably the real danger.

entr0pysaid:

That seems like it could be unhealthy since denatured alcohol is deliberately poisoned. Maybe burning poison is safer, but I wouldn't count on it.

Still, I guess you could use some everclear and attempt to drink whatever's left.
