How google chrome fails to protect your privacy in many ways.

It works the same because it is all just javascript. The point he is making is that chrome isn't any more secure than the other browser, and in fact, has some insidious elements to it.

Its just faster, is all. And the running of seperate processes per tab that prevent browser-wide crashes from a single tab crash is an advantage as well, although not that vital.

Oh, and that lat-longitude thing by IP address (maxmind.com) is pretty wonky. It has my lat longitude a good 26 miles away from where I live, in a different city, in fact.

I'm sorry, but this guy is just saying the bloody obvious. Of course information is being sent from his browser as soon as you start typing... how else would that feature magically bring up search results as you type?

Yes it is a privacy issue, but this is hardly news.
