Yes to your question winkler, it's fucking hard. He is playing the lead riff, with the melody and a rhythm part, and he's really feeling it. Throw in the odd harmonic and you get one pretty good guitarist

Upvote despite the fact that he needs to learn to keep a passive face and not "groove" like a tool while playing (albeit playing really well) ... take a few Clapton DVDs and call me in the morning, Tommy. P.S. Great playing.

That's a bit harsh brendotroy - that's just how he plays - I don't think it hurts the performance any. I actually like it. I find Clapton a bit wooden on stage.

Clapton has a bad guitar face too - he looks like he needs some Preperation H. Sheesh. I think the worst 'guitar face' reward goes to Robin Trower. If you look on youtube - you'll see he does a lesson (if you can call it that) showing you how to play both the bass and lead to this.
