VoodooVsays...so the levitation is just a gimmick...it adds nothing to the sound quality itself, correct?
L0ckysays...I'm sure they would have been falling over themselves to mention it if it did. The fact audio quality wasn't even mentioned is a red flag.
But it has a 15 hour battery so it doesn't need charging!
Because it'll be back in the box and listed on ebay in 4
Stormsingersays...Well sure, it's a gimmick. Increasing sound quality requires spending some real money anymore. Adding levitation just takes a couple of relatively cheap magnets.
SquidCapsays...Well it doesn't have to account for floor resonance that regular speakers need to deal with. But as far as sound quality goes, that is one the least important factors anyway.. Not negligible but far far behind the actual motion of the cone which still is by far the weakest link in the audio chain, far behind amps or wires. It turns out that moving a paper/plastic cone back and forth 4000 times per second is still hard thing to do precisely without tremendous inefficiency (amount of energy and cooling)...

ChaosEnginesays...Regarding sound quality, the masses have spoken and their response is "meh, good enough".
Convenience is now prized over quality.
I find it hilarious when people spend thousands on a sound system and then plug a mp3 player into it...
