One year after their successful (and now classic) "1984" Super Bowl ad, Apple returned with a stranger one depicting crowds of office workers as blind, suicidal lemmings.
The creepy ad equating rival Office solutions to senseless, violent death played to a stunned, silent audience for one long minute.
As a karmic bonus of sort, Steve Jobs was in attendance and saw the train wreck first-hand. He learnt his lesson: never be that arrogant to your potential customers. Only to your competitors and employees.
