I know it's wrong, but that really freaks me out.

I know it's not his fault. I know he is a man like me or you. I know he may be a perfectly pleasant guy (Jehova's Witnessity notwithstanding).

It still freaks me out though.

I think this is one of those things... I'd say someone who claimed they weren't Throbbin would be lieing...

There is a very interesting point in that video where a woman and a child are walking in that general direction and he turns around... she stops dead and even takes a step backwards...

That isn't her fault either... it's a reaction to something extremelly unusual... it doesn't make anyone a bad person... or even wrong... I think it's just part of being human... and it can be a good thing if we are aware of it and accept it... and don't let it rule us.

I was initially wondering if it wasn't neurofibromatosis, but apparently it's a different type of tumor.

According to wikipedia, he passed away after massive blood loss after removing part of the tumor. Theres no citation and a quick google search doesnt find any articles. The lastest thing I can find was something posted yesterday that his death has not been confirmed yet, so it could be just a rumor.

I hope he didn't die. God knows how much JW literature will come out showing him as an example of 'gods judgment' if he decided to take the surgery and accept blood transfusions.

I grew up as a JW and carried a 'no blood' card with me until I was 14, old enough to realize how fucking stupid and dangerous this literal interpretation of the bible is.

Regularly at JW meetings they would reiterate the rare cases of AIDS contaminated transfusion blood to scare people and give them reasons to shoot down people that argued against the case for refusing transfusions.

In conclusion, fuck Jehovah's Witnesses.
