silvercordsays...What can I say?
Even though I'm not much of a country music aficionado, this is one of my all-time favorite songs. I like the tune, I like the professionism and I like the four western buddhists angle. I like, well, the whole damn thing.
Listen to the crowd if you don't think these guys are awesome.
That's what I can say.
mlxsays...Love The Highwaymen.
choggiesays...Ditto-This song is magic for these guys-Makes me wanna break out the Wilbury's records.
wallacesays...I'm a huge JRC fan, and I like all the other guys as well - but the Highwaymen were a tired package. The first album (which had this song) was really poor. Listen to these guys individually to find classics. Ditto the Travelin' Wilbury's. Even Johnny on the Muppets is better.
choggiesays...Yeah, album was weak, but I own several LP's for just the one song that's the one-Like wallace says, don't run out to by the project.
silvercordsays...Play this song at 3:00AM when everyone else has gone to bed and all you've got is the haunting lyrics and voices - can't beat it.
brendotroysays...Others' comments about the album as a whole being weak are true, but this song is undeniably classic, made by undeniable legends. So good.
Also, Willie never can keep time in concerts, can he? With all due respect ...
silvercordsays...Funny . . . I never noticed that. I saw Willie in concert years ago. I can say one thing about him, that dude can pick a guitar! I was amazed. I didn't realize he was so proficient.
