TRN: Why not spread the wealth?

"Rich people are going to have to pay taxes again."

More brilliance from some liberal quack who obviously knows nothing about the tax system. I have no love for rich people, but even I admit that they're the ones who pay the highest tax percentage, they're the ones who pay the workers, they're the ones who own the businesses, etc...

Meanwhile the "poor" get a free ride, and many in this country not only pay NO taxes, they actually MAKE money off the tax system. Ever heard of EIC? Multiple dependents? Child care tax credits? The list goes on and on of abuses to the system. Sure, some lower-middle class work hard and use these to make ends meet, but far too often, people take advantage just like they do with welfare, government housing, food stamps, etc...

Obama can tax the rich more if he wants, while Latisha with her 8 kids and crack habit holds no job and makes money off of me and you, but it's not good for this country. Period.

rougysays...

The rich pay more taxes because they're making too much money to begin with.

Start paying the working class a fairer wage and you'll also see the taxes even out.

It's not about Latisha and her 8 kids - it's about Tom and Sue working an honest 40 hours a week and never making enough money to avoid slowly going into debt.

Bush may have cut taxes, but he increased spending on a massive scale, yet you rightwing buffoons think that bill will never have to be paid.

Hitler and Mussolini's rises to power both involved an irrational fear of socialism.
I'm not saying we're on a path for fascism (even if Mccain wins) but we should keep in mind why we don't want socialism.

"Joe thinks yhat sounds a little bit like socialism"
Sure, I think it sounds a little bit like socialism too but is that bad? and if so, why?
Let's not be irrationally afraid.

McCain's tax policy is not the answer for america.

The U.S is the largest consumer economy in the world. The best way to pump prime this sort of economy is from the ground up. Obama's tax policy is targeted directly to this.

I know some people feel this conflicts with the american ideology. It does not and should not. Some people however are using fear to make it sound like it does. America needs to wake up. The world has moved on since the Reagan years and America needs to do the same if it wants to retain its No. 1 position in the world.

Yeah I think it's waaaay too late for that, considering that the american people have been scared into two wars and major limitations to their freedom.

I sure don't get it either. I mean here in Europe people are afraid of terrorist attacks, too. But we try to deal with it the same way we deal with traffic accidents. Sure people are afraid of dying in a car crash, but that shouldn't stop you from driving. It's the risk you take for the freedom you get in return.

Every year more than 40,000 people die in the US due to traffic accidents. How many people in the US died from terrorist attacks in the last 5 years?

The rich already pay 60% of all federal taxes while the 20% at the bottom pay nothing. Obamarx is indeed using class warfare, which stems from the liberal viewpoint that life is a lottery, and no amount of struggle (without government intervention) helps anyone.

Putting aside for a moment that taxation is wealth redistribution at gunpoint, the folks who think that socialism will benefit them or "the common good" are in for another surprise: 80 cents of that redistributed dollar will be burned up feeding the bureaucracy that took it in the first place.

Holy shit this guy is awesome.

"Why would you vote for someone who says 'I'm not going to spend anything on your health care, education, jobs or anything?' It used to be "there was two chickens in every pot." This is a guy who's saying I'm not gonna give you any chickens."

I think he said it best... "grow up and come back to reality"... when name calling (Obamarx?... really?... thats what your going with these days?... you can do better than that!) and radical exaggeration "Taxation at gunpoint" is the best you can come up with... it's very difficult to view you as anything but fringe and a little silly...

I also thought it was cute how your 'statistics' included such perfectly rounded numbers... how could that possible be made up...?

You pull shit out of your ass every time you open your mouth.

Your political views are bankrupt because you have to resort to lies every single time you set out to justify them.

Compare Medicare to any private insurance company and tell me which one spends less on overhead.

It's Medicare and you damn well know it.
