Spoon - Don't make me a target

I love Spoon and it's a good tune but the video is not exactly the paragon of artistic freedom. In the video, he's making a target that he later refuses because that's what the lyrics contain. My goodness, if there's a video with a worse example of symbolism, I'd love to see it. If the lyrics mentioned a squirrel, how much would you like to bet that a squirrel would make an appearance?

Have you seen videos comprised of clip art because the video-maker merely took the lyrics literally? No imagination, no interpretation. For example...
