9063says...terrible film, great scene.
dystopianfuturetodaysays...I'm not sure how I would have felt had I paid $20 to see this thing sober in a movie theater, but streaming it at home - while under the influence - I found it pretty entertaining.
guessandchecksays...ya, i thought i would've hated it, was pleasantly surprised.

Interesting coincidence, I got into a conversation last week with someone on "worst film you've seen in a few years" this was the winner for me.
Issykittysays...I can't stand Justin Timberlake... OR The Killers, for that matter. EW!
dystopianfuturetodaysays...The enjoyment of film is all about expectations. I can see how dissapointed you'd be if you went into this film expecting a meaningful, coherent follow up to Donnie Darko. Here's how I'd sell this film: It's confusing and doesn't really add up to anything meaningful in the end, but it succeeds at being a trippy, bizarre and frequently funny film you can stream on Netflix some night when you are in the mood for weirdness, psychedelic visuals and SNL fetishism.
guessandchecksays...^my thoughts exactly. i forced myself to watch it after a friend gave it to me and coming from that it worked for me. i'm not really a fan of any of the actors, but the style and visuals are worth a few hours of your time.
budzossays...I didn't expect anything coherent and I still hated it.
dystopianfuturetodaysays...Just saw this flick again last night, and I've got to say, it's a lot smarter and better put together than I initially thought. It's the excruciatingly confusing tone that makes this thing work for me. Think Idiocracy meets David Lynch meets Hunter S. Thompson. It's messy, but intentionally messy because it allows it's critique of American shallowness to permeate every aspect of the film's production. Still, you are going to want to medicate heavily before viewing for maximum enjoyment.
