grinterUnfortunately, "communism" was/is considered a sufficient excuse for these things. Though it probably has less to do with idealism, and more to deal with economic reality. US profits drop wherever socialism gains a concrete foothold. In the 70's the US had already lost Cuba as a market, and was afraid of loosing South America as well.
