Sarah Palin Confuses Supporters With Hecklers

Sarah Palin at campaign rally October 13 2008, confuses the people in the back, who are chanting "louder, louder" because they can't hear her, with hecklers.

I am becoming incredibly tired of this kind of thing. Military personel should never be used for political gain, EVER. They most certainly should never be used to turn one group of Americans against another like she seems to be attempting to do here. It completely cheapens their service and sacrifice. To imply that she and her followers have some monoply on respecting the service of military persons as well as having feelings of honor, duty, and service is beyond insulting to me.

If you aren’t for the troops you are against them, that's a fascist stance.

If I want to be against the troops on one subject I will be, if I want to be for them on another I will be. That is the rights afforded to us in the constitution, however these soldiers have defended that right in WWII, and have not since then in a major war.

Even with Vietnam, Korea, the first Gulf war, there were some good reasons to go, but with all of the modern wars... those reasons die out fast. Because war is incoherently wrong, and so ingrained is us as a people.

Every time I go to the theater I see National Guard, showing a Dale jr, kid rock, and a Nat Guard (not a typical guardsmen but some hand picked Thoroughbred)on the wall.

They play the kid rock song that angers:

"So Don’t Tell Me Who's Wrong And Right When Liberty Starts Slipping Away
And If You Aint Gonna Fight Get Out Of The Away
Cuz Freedom Is So Free When You Breathe Red White And Blue I'm Given All Of Myself Cuz Thats What I Do"

I’ve got no problem with that, but when they show it with footage of some middle eastern country I have to take it as pushing an inherently wrong view of where liberty is.

Its like the commercials that have our soldiers in desert camo marching with their heads turned with cool shades on like stereotypical Nazi celebration march, with the stars and stripes in the background. I have come to dislike this view of our country very much.

I would like them to show the true side of war, so that the people who don't know the duality of these things can see what a GSW really looks like.

Other countries have a right to liberty, but its not our Liberty that we are fighting for in Iraq. Our liberty is fought for inside the beltway, and in courts all over the country, and even in the territories of the united states (Puerto Rico).

If only stuttering Obama Bin Laden could learn to emulate the lovely Miss Palin...

haha, fuck. I upvoted cos I thought it was sarcasm.

You know I was actually starting to feel a little sorry for Palin with all this talk of her being a mere puppet and a parrot, but then I remembered that, if parrots were profitable enough as sport, she would probably shoot them all. So the moment passed.

I guess the left-wing fascists with nothing better to do (like jobs) following Sarah around didn't get the memo about "welcoming all points of view".

No matter. These modern attempts to rage against the machine couldn't overthrow a Teddy Ruxpin.

Three points...

One QM... it deeply concerns me that YOU would chose to use the word 'overthrow' as though it was a dictatorship that needed to be...

Two... As someone who has three servicemen in my immediate family, two overseas right now, I do find it offensive that she would use them in some sort of pasive aggressive insult against someone exercising (by her own account, despite her misinterpretation) their constitutional right.

And finally this entire thing is a little ridiculous, have none of you played sports, cheered, given a speech?... you can't accurately decipher (most of the time) what indivduals or even smal groups are saying in a large crowd. This is really one of those videos where 'we' are making something out of nothing... until that woman made the comment about soldiers that is... than i can go back to despising her.

Januari, I agree with you that this is no big deal. I didn't sift it because I thought it would discredit Mrs. Palin in any way, and it doesn't. I just thought it was amusing, that's all. Could've just as well happened to Obama or Biden. I would've liked, however, to hear what she was actually talking about when the people started shouting. I think it would make one impression if she was actually talking about the troops and the sacrifices they make and so on and a totally different impression if she was talking about the economy and just pulled the veteran remark out of her ass.

And don't worry about the Mushroom guy, his mind seems to be stuck somewhere between the 70's and 80's, fighting communism and hating hippies, thus he's totally ignorant of any real problems and/or issues.

Januarisays...

On that note let me clarify... i wasn't trying to suggest it shouldn't get sifted either... not at all...

In a very real sense... like many of you I suspect... these days I can certainly use a bit of a chuckle and if it's at the expense of those who would lead us... mores the better...
