NetRunnersays...That's pretty funny, especially the part where he said "obviously Jesus wouldn't ask us to turn the other cheek to terrorists".
Xaxsays...What a supreme idiot.
Sketchsays...Out of context? No, it definitely says you should have slaves and stone people. And How many of those vaunted 10 Commandments are actually worth a damn? Like maybe 5 or 6? The other's are just God being an egotist, and the ones that are left are what we would consider, in the modern day, common sense. Note he doesn't attempt to support Leviticus, because it's chock full of pure evil.
Also good that he specifically notes that Jesus turning the other cheek doesn't apply to Muslim terrorists or other enemies of our pure Christian nation. What a hypocrite Jesus must be!
brainsays...In the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus says:
You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.
—Matthew 5:38-42, NIV
A parallel version is offered in the Sermon on the Plain in the Gospel of Luke:
But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.
—Luke 6:27-31. NIV
This passage is viewed as promoting nonresistance, pacifism or nonviolence.
srdsays...I was really pondering the upvote on this one. On the one hand, the message is so far from freak country that it deserves an upvote. On the other hand by sifting this we're spreading the brainless message even farther.
honkeytonk73says...MAGIC IS REAL! SNAKES CAN TALK PEOPLE CAN FLY AND A MAN NAMED JESUS LIVES IN THE SKY!
CaptainPlanetsays...paid for? how much did that cost?
gwiz665says...^It cost him his soul.
NordlichReitersays...Jesus Christ... this guy should shut the hell up.
Januarisays...I know it doesn't seem to be popular around here... I myself am Catholic... and i find that add embarrasing to the extreme... that I am in any way associated with someone like that is unfortunate to me... What a disgrace...
I do think my favorite part though is right after he says Obama is arrogant and then proceeds to guarantee us what Jesus would do... as though they talked about over the weekend... What a a moron.
