garmachisays...The "window" isn't actually rectangular. If you were to lay it down on a flat surface and look at it, it would be skewed (trapezoidal) much like a drawing of a rectangular object tilted slightly away from the viewer.
Because of the skewing, when we see it face on, our brains assume that it's actually a rectangular object tilted slightly away, and because it's actually rotating (clockwise) once it reaches the point of "maximum skew" (i.e. "face on") it then appears to switch directions.
