I'm guessing totally fake. Rubber bullets in the AK and the shooter was aiming for the leg which is why you see the first shot hit the dirt in front of the soldier. In fact, from the dust trail it leaves, it looks like that first shot continues rolling through the dirt right between the guys legs.

Still stupid though, because getting hit with a rubber bullet would hurt like hell and if the shooter was a little off in the aim and got you in the 'nads... Actually, now that I think about it that might make a better video. Outtakes?

I can't get AKO access to browse the actual vids they have of soldiers shooting themselves or their buddies, but someone else probably could access it (requirement is current or Army military service) and tell us whether you find that clip there.
