I am skeptical that there is anything exceptional about rabbit meat in this regard. The Wikipedia article does not indicate a great deal of of rigorous study on this topic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_starvation

Well sure some other lean meats will do it too, but that's not the point.

They actually got it wrong. Rabbit starvation is caused by the total absence of non-protein calorie sources, nothing to do with vegetables in particular. http://everything2.com/title/rabbit+starvation

well, they didn't say that. They said if you ate vegetables, you could eat all the rabbit you want.
