Plentitude: a potential new model for the economy?

From the youtube description:

I'm not convinced that it sufficiently addresses all the issues, but at least someone is finally talking about a new economy that doesn't slavishly adhere to the growth of GDP as the end result.

@ChaosEngine, the video shows it as Plenitude, not Plentitude. Although they both mean abundance.

And from what I recall - France lowered the work week solely to decrease unemployment, not to create happy feelings and sense of community. Can anyone from France comment?
