Bit from the movie about the rise of Apple and Microsoft "Pirates of Silicon Valley" where Gates explains to Ballmer how M$ can survive...

From YT: Ballmer: It was about that time, maybe 5 years after I got out of Harvard, I get this call from Bill who says- 'You want to join me and Paul?' It was a 2-bit little company they called Microsoft. At first I think, yeah, like I'd like to lose more hair. But, you know, then I started thinking...

Gates: You know how you survive? You make people need you. You survive because you make them need what you have. And then they have no where else to go.

Gates: Right now, we're dead. Nobody needs us.

Allen: So...uhhh. We make 'em need us.

Ballmer: (groan) We're too small even to matter. We could be snuffed out tomorrow and no one would notice.

Gates: You know what they say in the mafia? Keep your friends close, but your enemy's closer.

Allen: Which enemy's you talkin' about?

Not much in this scene, no. But the film as a whole? Yes.

It's actually a really good movie.

Btw, in case you don't know, the guy playing Ballmer here is John DiMaggio, the guy who voices Bender from Futurama.

Yeah, that was a great movie.

A great movie? Really, because from this it looks ham fisted, full of cliches (Gates as an evil out for everything nerdling), and full of mock dramatic moments that never would have actually occurred.
