This is Surfacing, the second to last track on The Endless River, the new album from Pink Floyd.

This is my favorite band. I usually ignore classic artists later releases, but this could have been a track off any of their earlier works. I'll have to check this album out.

One of the reasons Floyd is top of my list is that no matter how much their music evolves, they never lost track of the sort of sound that made them distinctive. It could be unfair to the rest of the band, but I credit most of that to Gilmour. His style of slow, powerful lead guitar is a rare sound in rock.

Dammit I honestly wanted to hear a Pink Floyd cover of Surfacing (slipknot). This is like hearing Mettalica releasing a song called "Shake it out" - you know it won't be right but you want to hear it anyway.
