It's sad how we hardly see numbers for those Iraqi citizens who have been killed as a result of this action by the US in Iraq, folks like you and me, just trying to make a living. Three thousand folks on 9/11/01 died in the US and the world mourned... how many Iraqi citizens have died beyond that three thousand and how many folks mourned?

Yeah, Olberman's theatrics are Shat-man worthy. I agree with the message, but it's just delivered a bit too bellicose.

Everytime the camera cuts from one to the other, the credibilty falls as the sense of showmanship rises....a shame

I don't see it as showmanship as much as I see Olbermann as the guy on the Titanic telling everyone the ship is going to sink, and everybody is whispering to each other "Why won't he shut up and let us enjoy ourselves?"

I like his theatrics... I kept expecting him to yell "You stole fizzy lifting drinks! We have to clean the ceiling now!"

Theatrics and showmanship may be a factor here, but they don't detract from the message he's sending, nor how justified it is. His delivery is sharp, and he speaks as if he is addressing Bush directly, in the same way a parent would scold a misbehaving, troublesome child... which seems to be the appropriate tone considering the past 6-7 years.

Hard to imagine a party that opposes so much also stands for so little, except higher taxes, less freedom and squashing the little guy in the guise of protecting the little guy. What's at stake is a world free of 14th-century barbarians attempting to wreck advanced societies and spawn another dark age which more enlightened religions passed through centuries ago.

As for how long this will take: Iraq is but one small theater in the coming decades-long wars. We're fighting desert warriors who are used to waiting out the enemy. They deserve no admiration but do deserve respect for their capabilities and resilience. They must be stopped permanently, just like the nazis and the commies.

I'm taking the long view here because liberals won't: they hate history, which exposes their same failed agendas over and over again. Appeasement didn't work with Derr Hitler and it won't work with these fanatics.

The camera switching was definitely annoying, and actually blew the theatric effect that Olbermann quite capably created himself. His theatrics are certainly planned, but they are not insincere, and so I think them appropriate. I don't like him co-opting Murrow's catch-phrase, though. That's always rubbed me the wrong way. It would be a tip-o-the-hat if he did it once or twice, but he's taken it as his own.

Ultimately, it's a shame that more prominent journalists will not allow themselves to editorialize this way. I guess the fear of coming off as another raving talking head is too great for the serious journalists. Oh wait -
