I think it's a tough call, but he has a point...

If Seymour Hersch is quoted correctly I can imagine quite some backlash from releasing the footage he refers to:

"This is at Abu Ghraib ... The women were passing messages out saying 'Please come and kill me, because of what's happened' and basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys, children in cases that have been recorded. The boys were sodomized with the cameras rolling. And the worst above all of that is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking that your government has. They are in total terror. It's going to come out.""

Time for America to look its demons square in the face.

In our culture, if you don't see it, you can always deny it exists.

The fact that Americans and mercenaries tortured Iraqis is not unknown in Iraq or the Arab/Persian world. It is one of the reasons our presense there is hated and one of the reasons we'll be facing events of "blow-back" for many years to come.

It's also something that will make Bush & Co., and their loyal supporters, piss their pants, and the time has come for that.

You are right rougy, it is the right thing to do. I'm just saying be prepared for very angry people. I could imagine pictures of a muslim child being sodomized might create a storm a lot worse than a cartoon of Mohammed.
