Noam Chomsky Speaks About Human Destiny

quantumushroomsays...

1) Chumpsky uses the term "stupid majority." The use of that term is the essence of left wing ivory tower eggheads; like monarchs, they think they're smarter than the rest of humanity, and have elevated themselves to an elite status even as they denounce the elite (the actual doers in the world who advance humanity, not complainers at University lecterns).

2) A guy to Chumpsky's left and the camera's right appears to be asleep. He's the smartest person in that auditorium.

Since quantum's brain is so clogged with right-wing nuttery that he can't hear straight, here's what Chompsky said:

The question is whether privileged elite should dominate mass communication and should use this power as they tell us they must -- namely to impose necessary illusions, to manipulate and deceive the stupid majority and remove them from the public arena.

His definition of "elite" sounds like people actually in power and of wealth. Many conservatives consider themselves elites on the subject of morality and "values", even when one look at the headlines says otherwise.

And your supposition is that liberals are elites because they think they're smarter than conservatives?!? That defines "elite" better than money, power, or perceived morality?

And what if they are smarter? Is that why it bothers you so much, because you suspect they are smarter than you?
