I wish they had also covered the way different cultures have handled surnames:
Occupational names (Smith, Baker, etc)
Geographic/locational names (Ford, al-Tikriti, Yamamoto, etc)
Patronymic/Matroymic names (Olsen, McDonald, etc)
...and I'm sure there's others I'm unaware of.
