NASA's Plan to Return to the Moon

NASA's CGI animation depicting the next generation lunar and crew exploration vehicles from liftoff to touchdown.

Nice CG animation.. such a fragile and slow way of travel like that.. if only we had force fields and could control gravity, magnetics and had access to more elements produced by proximity near events like binary cluster systems and other interesting events like colliding galaxies... just imagine the elements that are formed in such events. Hehe.. ok so my mind is wandering a bit..

Why actually go to the moon, when the CGI camera angles are so much nicer - plus there's sound! NASA should just become a government version of Pixar.

Seriously though, what are they going to to do on the moon besides take each others blood pressure, shoot golf balls, and drink $20k bottles of Evian water. This looks like another white elephant just like the Space Station.

Nasa should focus on finding breakthrough technology to make getting out of our gravity well cheaper and safer.

Great article in Wired this month which says all of this in a more eloquent way.

Seriously, with all the CGI I see from NASA (such as the Mars lander) all they need is to add a couple first person views, interactions and they've got a whole new virtual based tourist industry.

I agree though, our focus needs to be on making space travel cheaper, safer and available to the masses.
