Muse - Take a Bow (Freedom's Consuming Itself)

This song has the coolest and most iconic climax I've ever heard. Fan-assembled video using clips from Watchmen. Recommend watching this in HQ.

Still just 10 votes almost 24 hours after coming out of the queue? But every Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann clip is hot like fire? Fuck this, I'm done submitting shit to this bullshit site. Waste of fucking time, incestuous little circle jerk. Back to being a lurker and maybe find a "sift" site that actually pans for gold and not little shit nuggets.

Music is very subjective and difficult to get sifted in general. Personally, I stopped watching this a few seconds in because I saw it contained Watchmen footage. I haven't seen the movie yet and didn't want to take a chance of there being any spoilers (yep .. I didn't read the summary). Anyway, getting sifted at all is an accomplishment for a music video here. People might have different tastes in music but maybe have the same taste in Maddow or Olbermann.

Paul4dirt sifts a tremendous amount of music that never makes it out of his queue .. but never lets that stop him! Which is the way to be in my opinion. Sift what you like and don't worry about the votes.

Yeah I guess I'm just too emotionally invested in it, like "Hey this is the greatest song ever" and then almost nobody else is even impressed.

As for Watchmen, I guess it's too late for you to read the book before it leaves theatres. I've gotten over my strong aversion to the film and if I can get some fucking time I will go see it. I'm sure it'll be an excellent movie I just don't appreciate Zack Snyder trying to bite on Alan Moore's body of work.

I don't want to compare the films, but you run into the same situation with The Lord of The Rings. A devoted fanbase that has read the literature and an audience who has no understanding of it other than the films. There are many people upset that the movies changed major things and left characters out etc .. and than there are those that are glad because it exposed Tolkien's works to a new generation. No question book sales for LOTR skyrocketed after the movies' release. I don't know what point I'm making except that sometimes movies that (from a fans perspective) shit on the books they came from .. actually help those books and expand the number of people who read them.

I don't want more people to read Watchmen as a result of the movie. I don't want it to be something soccer moms and grade school kids and know about. Watchmen has had its own perfect little existence on the periphery of entertainment, where it was something you discovered on your own once your tastes had ventured slightly beyond the mainstream. Now it's just another confection for the brainless masses to half-watch while they fucking obsess over their little shitstains.
