"Float On" was the first single released from Modest Mouse's album Good News for People Who Love Bad News. The song was released on February 14, 2004 and was the first Modest Mouse song to gain mainstream popularity. Nearly a half year after its release, it became the band's first #1 hit on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.

There's something about this music that really relaxes me. More often than not i'll listen to the album before i go to bed.

Am I the only one who can't stand this song? Every time I have heard Modest Mouse sing this song (live or canned), I've wanted to gouge my eardrums out. The music isn't horrible, but the singer's VOICE! Gods grant that he be stricken with laryngitis!
