Massive Fire at Universal Studios (June1 2008)

As of June3, they are saying that roofing contractors using a blow torch on asphalt tiles on New York Street started the fire.
drattussays...

That's a shame, it's a very cool place if you ever get a chance to get off the tours and actually look at it. You can go from the wild west to New York city in the 40s to who knows what else from block to block.

Years ago when I lived in Southern California and they were just building the earthquake exhibit there I did some exterior welding and work on some doors for the building, we saw a bit of the place then and got a chance to meet a couple of people. Only one worth mentioning though was Michael Landon, he turned out to be pretty cool. He was taking a group of press and such through the ride before it opened and we were told he'd seen us and wanted us asked if we'd like to go for the ride too, just jump on a back car and don't make any noise or anything. We didn't even work there, just contractors there for a job.

Never was much impressed with any other Hollywood types but then again he's the only one of them I met who seemed to notice the regular people around them.

lol, haven't done it yet... I was just trying to think of a proper channel for this vid, rather than a playlist. Let's call the AWESOME THUMBNAIL a criterion to deem a video worthy of becoming a Sift *meme.
