LOL the US MREs recently (within the past couple of years) started to have drink bags - just tall zip locks - so you could fill that and slide it into the heater pouch. Works pretty damn well.

Actually I used to find the coffee from the Canadian rations relatively palatable, if you dump the hot chocolate, sugar and cream in with them.

Kept me awake anyhow.
