Major part of Antarctic ice shelf breaks apart

AP: "A chunk of Antarctic ice about seven times the size of Manhattan suddenly collapsed, putting an even greater portion of glacial ice at risk, scientists said Tuesday." Nope, no global warming here.

I read in a newspaper article in my local paper that some researcher who has been studying the decay of the antarctic ice shelves said they projected this particular shelf to break apart 15 years from now.

You know what this means? WE COULD BE MUCH CLOSER TO THE SUN GOING BOOM-BOOM THAN WE THOUGHT!

yeah Raigen, i'd read the same just today. That this was at risk of breaking off but shouldn't soon and wouldn't be a risk as such. strange coincidence that it's just broke off now? perhaps they knew it would and wanted it be a scare??
