Made several mistakes and still survived this crash landing

At 2000 feet, this pilot and his instructor lost effective engine thrust somewhere over Israel on a training flight...The instructor took control and made, apparently, a few mistakes putting the plane on the ground (tight turns, disregarding an open field right in front of him, not calculating in a tree line at the end of the short field that he DID select)---Maybe there were factors we can't see in the video that influenced the decision; savage cross winds, plowing patterns in the other fields, hard to see electrical lines...

But as been said before, any landing that you can walk away from is a good one...

In the comments, the pilot says that he chose the landing zone with the least obstructions. He also said the aeroplane only had minor damage to the leading edge of the wings, and was flying again three weeks later.

As easy as it is to make judgements after the fact that all looked pretty good to me. Given the high stress of the situation and the immediate nature of the problem there's a lot to think about in an absolutely finite amount of time.

They walked away with no injuries, no one else was hurt. The pilot did his job.
