Boise_Libsays...My first programming class was Fortran using cards.
God, I'm old.
vaire2ubesays...Looks like the program is to convert Kilometers into Knots around 1:55
jmdsays...I was disappointed to see it was just using the arduino to move the cards and toggle the picture, and that the image data still needed to be manually loaded into another pc. It would have been 700x better if the arduino used an infrared light bar detector or mechanical switchs like the real thing, and directly converted the cards to code, and THEN executed them.
schlubsays...Why is he using his HAND to turn the crank instead of the Arduino? This really isn't that impressive. If he wanted to use his hand, he should just be feeding the cards into the slot one at a time without the crank. And surely, the post-processing could have been automated a little better?
Personally, I've used a high-speed copier with an automated feeder. The copier would send the scanned images into the computer for automatic analysis.
deathcowsays...I think its gratuitous use of microcontroller just to have an Arduino part... the cool thing to me is taking pictures of the cards and then decoding the cards optically.
