I for one, agree with the child!
Sure the kid flipped out, dealing with a parent like that, who could care less what his kid was trying to tell him, his reaction is based on frustration. But the dad clearly set the child up to fail.

a little race like that means a lot to a little kid and to be purposely sabotaged from the start so you have no chance would make me freak out too.

The kid was obviously worried that he was somehow going to break the camera and pay for it through punishment. It wouldn't surprise me if some incident had happened in the past where he unintentionally broke something and got a thrashing for it, making him skittish now about repeating a similar action. Cause and effect.
