Hmmm. I see three sides of things from these clips of Palin being "interviewed" by the Fox people:

If I try to think from Palin's perspective, I would have been somewhat annoyed at the free pass and deferential treatment by the Fox people in general -- they could at least have pretended to ask some "hard hitting" questions -- and the interview with Beck would have been just creepy and disturbing.

If I try to look at it from the Fox people's perspective, I'd be rather disappointed with Palin. She is supposed to represent the best and brightest future for the GOP, the icon they've got all their chips behind, and all she can actually do is sit there with an expression that is blank and mildly confused at best (O'Reilly bit) or clearly uncomfortable and weirded out (Beck)?

And from my own perspective, which sees this as about 50% hilarious, 25% disappointing to see a party that I once identified with diverging so far from any logical or coherent path, and 25% Schadenfreude-induced enjoyment in watching the far right wing nuts that have taken over the GOP blissfully march towards their own irrelevance.

There is nothing funny about it really. A decent portion of the US population gobbles this tripe up and fills the coffers or people like Beck and Palin until they're overflowing. No, it's not funny; it's terrifying.

Fox News has Hypnotoad like effects on a number of my family members. "Oh what lunacy shall we swallow tonight oh great Bill-O" that is what my family members say.

That was ackward.
