Forget your dependance on forigen oil, Americans need to sever their depedance on fear. The whole country is paralyzed with terror that someone, somewhere, is amassing the tools that will dismantle their machinery of global ecomomic and military dominance. Even liberals have the fear. Christopher Hitchens (even though he isn't American kinda) believes Saddam Hussein held our lives in the pointy bit of his index finger*.

I don't think the world has much to lose if america hands over it's control to china or whoever. Democracy or communism doesn't change a thing if people are still controlled by fear


*Can't find the vid where he said this but it was basically if the US didn't remove him he would have built nukes and killed everyone in the world. Quite a bizzare stance for such an intellectual.
