If this is American teacher education, we're all doomed...

This is a phone video clip from a "teacher continuing education" class that teachers from the Chicago Public School system had to attend on a Saturday---apparently, a firm called "CEO Network" put it on.

Egads. Droning, mindless, repetition. Total lack of actual learning. No energy, innovation, or challenging ideas.

No damn wonder that some education systems can just be written off. It would take a super human teacher to resist having the life beat out of them by "continuing education" like this. How can they inspire and lead their students if this is how they are being "taught"? The implications (negative) of the parallel process are horrifying.
This is ridiculous.
It makes me sad, angry, and appalled all at the same time, for the teachers and their students at the same time.
