The difference between being a fundamental atheist (even though I don't think the word fundamental can really apply to an atheist) and a fundamental Christian is that an atheist dose not then go on to do other things because of a lack of belief in god , they are not following a text or instructions.

religoin probably did help interms of making it cultraly aceptable to wirte things down and store them in bookes , before the technoligy was there to store informatoin properly ,
