'Human Spiderman' Climbs Skyscraper, No Safety Equipment

France's 'Spiderman' Alain Robert wowed spectators as he took on a 185-metre skyscraper in Abu Dhabi, the tallest in the city. The audience cringed and cheered in fear and amazement as Robert climbed the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority building without any safety mechanisms in place.

'At the ages of 19 and 20 he suffered two accidents, where he fell 15 metres and suffered multiple fractures and permanent vertigo. The doctors considered him 66 percent handicapped and told him he would not be able to climb again. However, in 6 months he was back to climbing. He kept taking on more and more challenging structures and improving his skills. He polished his rock-climbing skills in the French Alps before turning to buildings.'

wow, that got my heart racing just watching it. oh, for anyone interested, his response to the question later in the video was:

"The fear... in fact, my day today wasn't great because, starting this morning up until 4 pm i was thinking about this. that's a lot of time to be thinking, always asking the same question, ok, i'm going to do this but will i be going to sleep tonight. i hoped so, but really i wasn't sure."

don't hold me to the translation, nothing official here, but it's pretty close
