Yogisays...Believe it or not this actually served a diagnostic purpose. House is a great show I'm constantly impressed by how good it is for being a network show that really should be crap. Crap like Lost. But it's consistently funny and fun to watch and maintains my interest.

Indeed. The writing is usually good and Hugh Laurie is fantastic. With Lost, the plot was absolutely stupid, and it was obvious that the writers were improvising as they went along.
EMPIREsays...I second that. I still watch House. Not so much for the medical stuff, but for the characters.

As a student of medicine I watch it for the medical AND the drama.

Trancecoachsays...So, that song actually has a rich and dynamic past, not the least of which was its critical role in Spike Lee's breakthrough film, Do the Right Thing
IAmTheBlurrsays...House makes me want to study medicine, I love that show. I was even House for Halloween and my girlfriend was Cuddy, it was pretty awesome!

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.
Sorry, but you can't compare a medical drama that follows the same formula for each show to a action adventure/mystery drama that was basically one of a kind. I agree that lost had some pretty silly or off-on-a-tangent moments, but it is probably one of the better shows to ever exist. Until the finale, of course.
Nope Shut the Fuck up...Lost is a piece of shit.
Sarzysays...I think both Mcboinkens and Yogi are being harsh on House and Lost, respectively.
Lost was a sprawling, unique and fairly awesome show that also had some serious flaws.
House is rigidly formulaic, but transcends that with its well above average performances and writing, and because it allows for more character development than your standard procedural. Both are great shows.
