This reminds me of all the times our government has supported democracy in emerging nations, then turned around and broke those governments up when the People elected socialists and communists.

Some of our Founding Fathers, who had the brilliant minds that created our Constitution, had the same problem it seems. Wanting to keep religion out of it but having the People say no.

However, our Constitution protects us. For now.
