PinkGlittersays...is that a film or a tv programme? i've never seen it before...i feel like i've missed out hehe
HAMFISTsays...holy crap! I always wondered from what film Mr. Show spoofed in their Altered State of Drugachusettes (http://www.videosift.com/story.php?id=7317) sketch!
Thanks for posting this, rickegee.
dotdudesays...This was a Sid and Marty Krofft television shows that ran from 1969 - 1971. There was also a movie around 1973 - if memory serves. I did see it.
Jack Wild is the young kid. Wild played "The Artful Dodger" in the movie musical "Oliver!" in 1968. He died this past March.
The television series included musical numbers on occasion. I remember when a frog character on the show did a "moonwalk". If I ever locate it, I'll post it.
I tried watching a rerun when I was in my twenties. The constant shouting of dialogue really got on my nerves. Apparently it didn’t bother me when I was younger.

Wumpussays...I never saw this show either, I think it was before my time...and I'm 30 which is saying something.
But just by watching that intro, I can't help but think there had to be some kind of inspiration brought on by a controlled substance.
dotdudesays...Here is a compilation of intros from several Sid and Marty Krofft shows. The one for "H. R. Pufnstuf" is not as nice as the one above.

Also, here’s a quote from the Wikipedia article concerning Sid and Marty Krofft:
>>The Kroffts' "camp" popularity stems largely from their shows' low-budget production values, the often surrealistic feel of many of the programs, the uniquely "'70s" style of music and design, and many intentional or unintentional references to psychotropic drug use.

swampgirlsays...All the kids shows back then were "trippy". Make one imagine all the experimental drugs artists and writers were using then and where their inspiration came from.
