What's this from (name of the show)?

Not from a show, this is a real funeral from one of the cast members of Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Yes...I understand that...but most funerals don't have credits at the end and the BBC logo. This was obviously from a broadcast on the BBC and this was just the ending of it.

Good point, Grimm. Since they have the month, year, and "Graham Chapman's Memorial Service" subtitled in on the video, I'd guess this was aired some time after the actual funeral. Unless BBC broadcasts usually have that sort of stuff?

Not sure what sort of show would include something like this. Maybe this was appended to some Python movie/sketch which was aired sometime later "in memory of Graham Chapman"?

It just seemed odd that they had the month and year in the subtitle. Is that normal for a British broadcast, or does it mean this was aired after the fact?

Anyway, it looks like this may have been part of a series. Just guessing, but the "Graham Chapman's Personal Best" episode of the "Monty Python's Personal Best" series would probably include something like this.

A user from IMDB describes the Graham Chapman episode as "a wonderfully compiled edition featuring little stories from the five about the deceased Graham Chapman coming across as a truly heart felt tribute".

Well I found this in the comments left on youtube...couldn't tell you how accurate it is or not.

"Just in case anyone wants to know, this is from a documentary celebrating 20 years of Monty Python. I think it originally was supposed to feature a skit with the Pythons and Steve Martin. Graham had to be brought in a wheelchair. Graham died during the editing of the documentary and eventually the Pythons decided not to include the skit. The documentary was shown on the BBC in 1990, it featured the 5 remaining pythons talking about the history of the troupe."

Another posting of the memorial service from Youtube says: "It was broadcast in The Life of Python in 1990."

Maybe it's in the Life of Python I posted up there ^ but it didn't look like it, and I can't sift through an hour of footage at the moment.
