Francis Ford Coppola predicts Youtube back in '91

Coppola might take his words back now given that the pinnacle of YouTube achievement is dogs humping stuffed animals and kids lip-synching to god-awful music.

The clip is from the Hearts of Darkness (1991), the Apocalypse Now documentary.

Yes, camcorders have been accessible for a long time. I'd say that it wasn't at all obvious what the distribution model would be. Coppola's prediction has more to do with what content would become popular, and on that point I think we can agree that he ate his words.
