Evolution of the Eye

I graduated highschool in Indiana. Luckily I had two very good biology teachers, both strongly Christian, but both intellectually curious about the natural world.

(I'm a biology/biomedical PhD student, by-the-by)

"There are STILL incredibly primitive bugs and fish that have light sensitive cells that are the very pre-runners to what we have now as eyes. Do some damn reading for once in your life."

Thank you for sharing that information. I just posted a clip I found on youtube, with the original description of the person who uploaded it. The idea is that if people like the video, maybe they become interested enough to do some research about it. I have NOT expressed my views or current knowledge about this and you are telling me to do some reading?
And just so you know, I am a Pre-Optometry student, and while I am not an expert on how vision evolved, I am pretty sure that I will read much more than you about it for the next 8 years of my student life.

its funny that the eye was such an 'irreducibly complex' talking point for anti-evolutionists back in the day.

I'm an aspiring neuroscientist, and if you want to talk about irreducibly complex, take a look at the brain. Its freakin' ridiculous.
