Man who gives a crap? let the lawyers sort that crap out. By the way, nobody posts DVDs to Sift, they post them to YouTube or other video hosting places. UmberGryphon -= 1;

Um, almost every video I've submitted to VideoSift has either been (a) posted to the video site (YouTube etc.) by the owner of the copyright, such as the OK Go video I submitted; (b) been an advertisement that the copyright holder wants to get as many views as possible, such as the Andy Roddick vs. Pong commercial for American Express; or (c) has been homemade or is otherwise unpurchaseable.

The only exception is the International Philosophy sketch from Monty Python, which can be purchased as part of the 16-Ton Megaset from amazon.com. But as 4 minutes out of 1,629 minutes of the box set, I don't feel like I'm costing them any sales.

Well I guess you almost have the high ground then; good for you! As far as I'm concerned, tapes of live shows are totally on the OK side of the ethical boundary for posting.
