gorillamansays...If you're unfamiliar with the album, well, you probably won't watch the video - but just in case you do, here's some lyrics and a link to the Wikipedia article with some good information on the story.
deathcowsays...There is a lot of DT to love. I dont even know the names of the songs or the albums they came from but some of it is SOOOOO good. I wonder what album Pervuian Skies came off of.
UmberGryphonsays...Funny, the DVD "Metropolis 2000: Scenes From New York" appears to be still for sale at Amazon.com....
gorillamansays...Oookay, you gigantic hypocrite.
UmberGryphonsays...Hypocrite? Care to tell me exactly when I submitted the entire contents of a DVD to the Sift?
gorillamansays...Go and discard all your copyright infringing videos before you start downvoting mine. For that matter stop watching them. You may as well just stop coming to the site.
(and it's actually not the entire DVD)
deathcowsays...Man who gives a crap? let the lawyers sort that crap out. By the way, nobody posts DVDs to Sift, they post them to YouTube or other video hosting places. UmberGryphon -= 1;
UmberGryphonsays..."Go and discard all your copyright infringing videos before you start downvoting mine."
Um, almost every video I've submitted to VideoSift has either been (a) posted to the video site (YouTube etc.) by the owner of the copyright, such as the OK Go video I submitted; (b) been an advertisement that the copyright holder wants to get as many views as possible, such as the Andy Roddick vs. Pong commercial for American Express; or (c) has been homemade or is otherwise unpurchaseable.
The only exception is the International Philosophy sketch from Monty Python, which can be purchased as part of the 16-Ton Megaset from amazon.com. But as 4 minutes out of 1,629 minutes of the box set, I don't feel like I'm costing them any sales.
Sorry for the misuse of the phrasing, deathcow; I've edited the post to correctly use the word "submit" instead of "post".
gorillamansays...Well I guess you almost have the high ground then; good for you! As far as I'm concerned, tapes of live shows are totally on the OK side of the ethical boundary for posting.
siftbotsays...Discarding because this post has less than 3 votes in its first 2 days in the queue.
