MarineGunrockME WANT! Where can me get?
[Edit] I love you Zeph!

Unfortunately they could only make the shareware episode as creating levels from the full game would have got them into legal problems.
RottyI remember the days when I use to play Doom maps over dial-up with a friend of mine, one on one death match and sometimes co-op against the monsters. Once I frag-wrapped him (I got over 100 kills). I was laughing so hard I almost fell out of my chair. Ahh...the days of dial-up...
conansays...I love doom, but sorry, this doesn't work for me. I rather play the tuned up 640x480 version with Doom95. All that stuff / monsters etc. from Doom 3 just doesn't get me the "Doom feeling" from what i can tell by this vid.
antClassic DOOM mod rocked. Sonic's music is awesome too.
8383For those of you that still have your old WAD files:
http://www.doomsdayhq.com/
Allows you to run Doom, Doom 2, Heretic and Hexen in XP/Vista.
MarineGunrockPlayed it. Kicks ass. Music is awesome.
GeertJansays...I'll stick with the original low resolution version on DOSBox.
conansays...If you want to play your WAD files the original way, try Doom95 which i mentioned above... Runs also on XP
sillmasays...I totally agree with conan in this case. It just doesn't look Doom.
8383Last time I tried Doom95 it wouldn't recognise my mouse. It can't run Heretic or Hexen either, so I'll stick with Doomsday.
AnimalsForCrackerssays...I use zDaemon (WADs from Doom 95) to get my Doom coop/CTF/DM fix. Always revisit it now and then...always a blast.
qruelamazing the life that this game has years later. it was such a huge influence on so many people. it's wierd to think that there are still people playing on severs with some of these old maps.
jmdsays...hmm, interesting... so is the mod now finished? I see a goodbye notice on the bottem of the front page.
BTW im not sure where this guy is getting his copyright info from, but doom is licensed freeware. I think there is some textures in the commercial pack that are locked up for public use, but there should be NO problem with converting every single level to play in doom3.
rychanBleh, looks terrible. Looks like they took the arcade fun of Doom out and replaced it with eye-strain inducing lighting, flashes, and poor frame rate.
Doom 3 was possibly the biggest disappointment in my gaming life and this video just highlights all the reasons why. And I LOVED the single player of every previous Quake and Doom game. Yes I loved the Quake single player, which people mock for lack of "story." Whatever, it's fun. And more legitimately frightening than doom3 was. Doom3 just used lots of poor lighting and cheap scares from monsters appearing out of nowhere. And you rarely fought lots of monsters at once because god knows what that would do to your frame-rate.
MarineGunrockI think rychan is just pissed because he had to play it on a Pentium 3 with a GeForce 2.
rychanI played it on a good computer, it just wasn't very fun. Or interesting. Or immersive.
